PSD

Personal and Social Development (PSD) helps to give young people the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives. It aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.

Units of work include:

  • Sex and relationships
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Social issues
  • Online Safety
  • Gang and knife crime
  • Drug awareness
  • Matters of Life and Death
  • Raising Aspiration and future

The centre’s belief that the course content enables the young person to develop within an environment that equips them for the future within four main areas of growth: communication, self-awareness, motivation and relationships.
